Faculty UNR

The central research topic of the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources (UNR) is the analysis of interactions between humans, society and the environment, especially under the aspect of global change. The basis is a broad interdisciplinary approach that incorporates competencies from the natural, social and technical sciences. The findings obtained are used for basic research as well as for transfer to the economy, society and political consulting.

Current research fields of the faculty are:

  • Sustainable use of natural resources and renewable energies
  • Protection of the basis of life (soil, water, air, biodiversity)
  • Adaptation to global change
  • Natural hazards and risks

The Master's program in Environmental Sciences is part of a broad range of environmentally related courses offered by the faculty. There are particularly close links to the Master's program in Forest Sciences, which has an identical structure.
